INORC NAVAL CONTEST

from 12.00 UTC on Saturday 6 December until 11.59 UTC on Sunday 7 December

The Italian Naval Old Rhythmers Club (INORC), which brings together Italian and foreign radio amateurs from the Navy and Merchant Navy, and other amateur radio enthusiasts and active in CW, promotes and organizes the thirty-fourth edition of the Contest INORC.

 TRANSMISSION MODE: only CW

AIM: It is a World-Wide contest, everybody can works everybody.

DATE The first full weekend of December: from 12.00 UTC on Saturday 6 Dec. until 11.59 UTC on Sunday 7 Dec.

BANDS 10/15/20/40/80 meters.

CATEGORIES: there are 3 categories: N = Navals; I= Indipendents; S= SWL

Note:

N= OM enrolled in INORC or other equivalent club: MARAC, MF, RNARS, etc.

I= OM of any country, not enrolled in Naval Club, and therefore considered “Independent”.

The categories mentioned are only single operator/single RTX. Only one signal is permitted at any time.Use of packet cluster is permitted for all entrants, but Self spotting or asking other stations to spot you is not allowed.

 CALL:   CQ INORC, TEST INORC.

The station enrolled in Naval Club (cat. N) can use in calling suffix /N to be immediately recognizable. This obviously does not change the name, which in the logs should always be shown without the “/ N”.

 EXCHANGES:

-Members of INORC or other Naval Club will pass the RST report followed by the club’s code and the number.

-Non-members (Independent) will pass the RST report followed by a sequential number starting with 001.

 POINT QSO:

For all participants, Naval or Independent:

– QSOs with  INORC stations and other Naval Club are worth 10 points.

– QSOs with other stations (Independent) are worth 1 point.

– The same station may be worked once per band.

MULTIPLIERS:

INORC stations or other Naval Club are multipliers. Can be counted as a multiplier ONCE independently of the bands on which they were working.

FINAL SCORE : Is obtained by multiplying the sum of the “points” to the sum of “multipliers”.

SWL:

The same rules of OM, but the submission of log MUST be submitted within 48 hours after the end of the contest (00:00 UTC Dec 9, 2014):

– Listening to a NAVAL station is worth 10 points;

– Listening to an independent station is worth 1 point;

– The same station may be counted only once per band;

– Multipliers are all Naval stations listened, counted only once, independently of band.

In the log you must also specify the corresponding of the radio station. 

NB: SWL logs are very welcome. To be ranked in the category does not require a minimum of receptions, but the Contest Manager deems worthy of mention Logs that reveal a particular diligence by SWL.

LOG SUBMISSION:

Logs should be sent to the Contest Manager no later than Sunday 14 December 2014 in Cabrillo format uploading the logs on website http://ua9qcq.com/en/submit_log.php?lang=en.

There are no accepted log in a different format. Paper logs can be sended via email fabio.iz8dss@hotmail.it .  The log sheet is available on website www.inorc.it .The receipt by the Manager of the log sent by e-mail will be confirmed with an appropriate message. In any case, even if handwritten, the log must contain all the necessary data, both the participating station that the QSO played: participant’s name, the name used, class participation, a declaration of compliance with the rules, and, for the QSO, date , UTC time, band, station worked, full report given, full report received. The QSO should be listed in chronological order. The scoring is optional, because all the logs are analyzed and the score recalculated.

Programs “Super Duper” (SD) by EI5DI (www.ei5di.com), “QARTest” by IK3QAR (www.ik3qar.it), and “Test-INORC” by our member IK1YBL (www.webalice.it/ik1ybl/Software.html), directly support the contest INORC, and all three are free. All the software provide the Cabrillo Log generation without any problem.( (Note: The SD downloaded free from author’s website is in limited release for another contest, but for the contest INORC works full).
NB: All electronic logs received AFTER the Dec. 21 will automatically be considered CONTROL LOG. For the paper Logs sended via priority mail, will take in consideration the date of postal stamp.

DISQUALIFICATION :   In the opinion of the Contest Manager will be penalized or disqualified competitors who send incomplete Logs, with high content of unverifiable QSOs or that do not result in bilateral cross-checks.
There will also be disqualified competitors as INORC members, found not to comply with the payment of the annual fee. Logs will be carefully checked by the Contest Committee and mistakes may cause a score reduction. There are no penalties applied to erroneous QSO, but unsportsmanlike conduct may lead to disqualification of the entry. Unsportsmanlike conduct may be found in the LOG data as well in any other recording mean available to the Committee. All Contest Committee decisions are official and final.

RANK: There are three different classifications for the following categories:

N= Stations belonging to a Naval Club

I= Independent stations

S= SWL stations

 PRIZES:  Will be awarded the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place in Naval and independent categories, and 1st place in the category SWL.  All placed competitors will be sent a certificate of participation.

 IMPLICIT DECLARATION: By submitting an entry in the INORC Contest you agree that:

a) you have read and understood the rules of the contest and agree to be bound by them;

b) you have operated according to all the rules and regulations of your country that pertain to amateur radio;

c) your log entry may be made open to the public;

d) all actions and decisions of the INORC Contest MANAGER are official and final.

INORC AWARD: If the qso in the logs respect the rules of INORC AWARD (please see the www.inorc.it website), it’s possible to receive the award. Costs or IRC nedded are available on the website www.inorc.it
