Paolo VIGO (Italy)

Always interested in radio communications which leads me to study and graduate in Telecommunication.
I work as Computer Engineer in one of the largest Italian company in the industrial filed.

Starting with BCL \ SWL, I get the License as IW1BZI.
I signed up for the ARI section of Alpignano where I attended a CW course with valued masters such as IK1DEP Aurelio and IK1HXQ Piero, than I passed the telegraphy exam at the first attempt and obtained the callsign IK1YBL. I prepared myself for the exam with a self-built oscillophone with an NE555 and a vertical key purchased in a GBC shop (Italian Radio Shack) and another device built in the province of Turin. After  the exam, started the hard job to work on CW using a paddle by IK1OJM.

Thanks to some sponsors I became AM 542 in INORC Club.
After reading the various articles on IK0XCB’s Radio Magazine about Bugs I started to be intersted in this kind of morse key.

Now I send morse only with BUGs and I  have two specimens:

* LIGHTNING BUG “- STANDARD FINISH (japanned) of 1929
* Original Presentation of 2005

I get the WAC, WAIR, WAIP, INORC and DXCC degrees, the DXCC CW continues, now I am in 207 accredited countries. I like rag-chewing and finally I found the activations such as II0REX and the initiatives of EuCW.

I work only on CW on HF with a Yaesu FT 920, a vertical antenna for 10/15/20/40, a dipole for the 80, I have a yagi 2 elements for 10/15/20 and a rotary dipole for 30 and 12.

I wrote a program for managing the INORC Contest.
I’ve been a contest manager for the 2016 INORC Contest.

Always fashionated of old commercial Morse communications.
