Marine Radio – Radio system SKANTI TRP 5000

This radio system was built in 1980. The transmitter operated from 1.6 to 27.5 MHz with a max. power out of 400 W. The frequencies were set in 100 Hz steps, up to 128 frequencies were pre-programmable. Modes were SSB as well as A1 and A2H. The antenna tuning was roughly preprogrammed, the fine tuning was done with just one controller. A 2-tone alarm was installed, the international distress and call frequency 2182 kHz could be switched directly. The power supply was provided by the 110/220 V electrical system, but the system could also be operated from a 24 V battery. Manufacturer of this radio was Skanti, which sold the system as TRP 5000.
With  the transmitter described above it was included the general coverage receiver R 5000, it was in the photo in the bottom slot. The R5000 covered the range from 10 kHz to 30 MHz and could be set either in increments of 100 Hz via the numeric keypad or continuously via the tuning knob to the left of the numeric keypad. The frequency was indicated by LEDs. Modes of operation, were all SSB modes, as well as A1, A2 and A2H. The receiver – as well as the transmitter – could be powered from a 24 V battery or by 110/220 V.
