R/O Dave HOUGH – WLO/Mobile Radio photoes collection

During the last MRD on R/O googlegroups our colleague R/O Dave HOUGH entered in touch with me asking if I was interested in his WLO photoes collection tooken a couple of years ago…I thought many of us entered in touch with Mobile Radio while at sea and I remained always impressed how fast and reliable was the radiotelephone service guaranteed by WLO to Seafarers, I asked Dave immediately to send me the pictures and I am very enthusiast to share them on our website.

Dave sent me the photoes with the following message:

Alfredo,

attached are photos taken at WLO during the Night of Nights event 12-13 July 2014. WLO has a receive site in Mobile, Alabama at 30°35’37.5″N / 88°13’17.9″W and is a currently active maritime radio station except they do not use morse although it is capable of doing so.

While there I was able to stand watch during Night of Nights and have my radiotelegraph license endorsed by station manager Rene Steigler.
