My name is Charris Skourtis from Ermione , a small village in east coast of Peloponissos Greece . At July 1982 I had completed studies in Marine Academy R/T of Preveza . On 26th of October 1982 , my first sailed in Ro/Ro vessel Hell.Innovator / SZKS . From January 1986 till January 1987 served my country in Hell. Navy as petty officer in D54 “ LION “ ( Ex USS Eldridge DE 173 ) a Cannon class destroyer escort vessel. After dismiss from Navy , continue my career in merchant navy .At October 1990 I improved in 1st class R/Off certificate. On July 1997 disembarked from the last vessel that working as R/Officer c/v Prestige /SZYO . Then , I had graduate succefully a training course changed my rank to deck officer , and February 1998 embarked in c/v Zim Eilat / SVPW as 2nd Off. At October 2002 completed the training course for Ch.Off . Last vessel that I had sailed , was m/v Oinoussian Lady / SZRG . At 7th of December of 2012 I had be in retirement . 30 years and 41 days sea service ! Totally had been sailed in 28 vessels , in 14 of them as Radio Officer , and the other 14 as Deck Officer . Type of vessels 1 Ro/Ro , 1 war ship , 2 general cargo , 8 bulk carriers and the rest 16 containers .
