Lightship “PLANET” c/s GB2LBL

Our Colleague R/O Mike Carter now M6MPC reported me information about LIGHTSHIP PLANET c/s GB2LBL:
Hi Alfredo,
I have recently joined the Maritime Radio Museum Society which is a group of lads who operate an Amateur Radio Station aboard the Light Ship “Planet/GB2LBL” which is permanently moored in Canning Dock – Liverpool. If you look on my QRZ.COM page you will see a picture of our little radio shack – on the ship’s bridge with rig Kenwood ts 570 dge. There is also a picture of the Planet, painted red with the word BAR on the sides lower down.
The MRMSW Website also has a picture of us old ops on the starboard side for photo.
Best regards,  Mike M6MPC

The Planet or LV23 Light Vessel as it was know on it’s station in the English channel, was the Last Manned Light Ship on the Mersey Bar and the last Manned Light Vessel on the English Channel. Now it is a Museum, Cafe Bar and beacon to the Merseyside Maritime Heritage.
This famous piece of Mersey marine heritage is now back on the Mersey located in Canning dock, next to the Albert dock Complex, Liverpool.
