Spliethoff’s first owned vessel. This vessels call sign has been used for the special event callsign: PF6IK

The call will be active from 01-01-2021 until 31-12-2021

My main mode is CW but I  will be active in SSB too in order to give phone operators the possibility too to work the call. Possibly in digi mode too.

 Spliethoff’s Bevrachtingskantoor B.V. is a Dutch shipping company. The head office is located in the port of Amsterdam. The company was founded in 1921 by Johan Fredrik Spliethoff. He specialized as a freight broker in the transport of timber products from the Baltic Sea ports to Western Europe. In 1946 his son Herman Spliethoff commissioned the construction of the company’s first new ship, the Keizersgracht, callsign PFIK. The ship was named after the canal in Amsterdam where Spliethoff had his office.

Ever since, the vessels of Spliethoff are named after the Amsterdam canals. Since the sixties, the colour of the Spliethoff ships is brown and all vessel names end with “GRACHT”. In the twenty-first century, Spliethoff took over a number of shipping companies. Today, beside the brown “ Gracht” -fleet, the Spliethoff Group comprises BigLift Shipping (formerly known as Mammoet Shipping), Sevenstar Yacht Transport, Transfennica, Wijnne Barends and Bore.

The core activity of the Spliethoff Group is sea transport.
